Morningstar ProStar 30A PWM Solar Charge Controller 12/24V Batteries w/ Meter and with Remote Temperature Sensor

Morningstar Prostar Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) solar charge controller with built-in display meter delivers up to 30 amps of reliable charging for off-grid solar systems with 12V or 24V lead acid, lithium or other type batteries. It regulates power from the solar array that it delivers to batteries. This controller enables monitoring, data logging, and supports MODBUS communications. When used with the EMC-1 accessory, it provides IP-based network and internet connectivity, including Simple Network Management Protocols (SNMP). This controller features low voltage disconnect (LVD) and multi-event lighting control. This capability allows for precise scheduling and control of lighting based on solar energy availability, optimizing system performance. ProStars feature built-in electronic protection against surges, short-circuits, overloads, reverse polarity, high voltage, and high temperature disconnect to safeguard against damage to electrical components. Advanced self-diagnostics alert users to installation or operational errors, while automatic recovery ensures continuous protection. Morningstar's Remote Temperature Sensor (RTS) provides improved battery charging in solar systems that experience temperature variations during the year. It measures temperature at the battery and the controller uses this data for very accurate temperature compensation. This sensor is essential when the battery temperature differs by more than 5°C (9°F) from the controller, ensuring accurate temperature compensation for improved battery charging. Provides precise temperature readings maintaining reliable performance across a wide temperature range. For defense against harsh environments, the sensor is securely encapsulated in epoxy within a robust power lug housing. This durable construction protects against lightning surges and short circuits for long-lasting performance and reliability in the most challenging conditions. The RTS is compatible with many Morningstar models.
